Golf Skills Interclub Day at D6 Special Olympics Club
On Thursday March 13th, D6 Special Olympics Club hosted a Golf Skills interclub day which took place in Milltown Golf Club, making for a fantastic day for all involved.
On the day, 22 athletes from 4 clubs across the Eastern Region participated. The athletes covered 6 different golf skills including the short putt, long putt, chip shot, pitch shot, wood shot and iron shot. All athletes received a certificate and medal of participation after the event.
We would like to say a massive thank you to all the volunteers from D6 SO Club who helped run a brilliant day out and the staff in the golf club for providing refreshments for all the athletes and coaches after the event. Many of the volunteers also help every Saturday when D6 hold their golf outings and training sessions with the athletes.
The interclub day was a great showcase for the athletes and their abilities while the event was also good practice for the upcoming Golf Skills Regional event taking place on April 17th at Woodbrook Golf Club. We look forward to seeing the athletes participate once again at Woodbrook.
