Gala Ball in aid of Special Olympics Ireland
In March 2025, 14 incredible Special Olympics Ireland athletes will travel to Turin to represent their country in the Special Olympics World Winter Games. This competition brings together over 1,500 athletes from 103 countries to showcase their talents in one of the biggest inclusive sporting events of 2025!
Team Ireland will compete in Alpine Skiing and Floorball and athletes from both disciplines have been training hard in an attempt to make their dreams become a reality on the World Stage.
This is a hugely significant milestone in the lives of the athletes who will represent Team Ireland so to recognise this we will be hosting a number of events in the months leading up to the World Winter Games in order to bring together the Special Olympics Ireland community of supporters to celebrate the champions who make up Team Ireland.
Celebration of Champions: Gala Ball in aid of Special Olympics Ireland
As part of these celebrations, Special Olympics Ireland will host a “Celebration of Champions” Gala Ball on Friday the 22nd of November 2024. This event is proudly supported by The K Club.

- VENUE: The K Club, Straffan, Co. Kildare
- TIME: Doors open at 6:30pm, with a pre-drinks reception on arrival. Dinner, guest talks & entertainment 8pm.

The Celebration of Champions Gala Ball will be a black-tie event, with a 1920’s Christmas theme.

- Q&A’s with Irish sporting icons hosted by RTE’s Des Cahill
- Live music by The Trips, plus a surprise special guest
