Brilliant day 2 of Floorball action
The second day of floorball action began with plenty of energy and positivity. Watch this interview with Gavin Bourke’s girlfriend Emma and her sister Abbie to get a sense of the atmosphere.

Team Ireland floorball’s first match of the day was a high-energy contest against Mexico.
Gavin Bourke kicked things off with our first goal, and Joe-Joe Sheehan followed it up with a lovely direct hit for a second goal. Mexico put a score on the board, but spirits were high at half-time.
We held Mexico off with a skilful save from goalkeeper Jack Buckley, to give us a win in our first match of the day! Watch the highlights here.
Joseph Sheehan and Head Coach Peter Merrins gave their reaction in a post-match interview – watch it here.

The second and final match of the day, against Costa Rica, was a very intense match. The Irish team put up a courageous fight, with tenacious efforts in both attack and defence, but the match went 5-nil for Costa Rica. Our floorballers dusted themselves off, learned from the experience, and went for a well-deserved rest ahead of their two matches tomorrow.
Team Ireland floorball, we are so proud of you!
Match 1: Ireland 2 – 1 Mexico
Match 2: Ireland 0 – 5 Costa Rica
