2019 Special Olympics World Summer Games
Abu Dhabi, March 14th to 21st
91 Special Olympics Ireland athletes will compete in the World Games which will be the largest humanitarian sporting event this year.
Athletes from right across Ireland will compete in 12 sports: athletics, badminton, basketball, bocce, bowling, equestrian, football, golf, gymnastics, kayaking, swimming and table tennis.
Supported by a volunteer management team of 39, Team Ireland will join 7,000 Special Olympics athletes from 170 countries at the Games. In addition
· 76 volunteers from Ireland will also travel to Abu Dhabi to assist the games organising committee in the UAE in the running of the Games.
